GoogleFight World Cup - Group A Results
This group featured the tournament hosts, Poland and two minnows from the American continents.
As was to be expected the hosts completely dominated the opening game thrashing Costa Rica. Poland began well with a decisive victory over Ecuador, but were stopped conclusively in the next game by the German juggernaut. Ecuador and Costa Rica then produced the first drawn game of the tournament. With Germany destroying Ecuador that left Costa Rica having to defeat Poland to go through, however they were thoroughly outclassed by the Europeans.
Germany and Poland go through to the round of sixteen, while Costa Rica and Ecuador head home to dream of what might have been.
