New And Improved

So. . . Anyone can buy this at their local bus station, and use with immediate effect on, say, the bus driver. I feel safer already.

My grouse with this is that either they are totally stupid, totally liars, or selling two different products - how can a product be both "new" and "improved"?

If it's new then there hasn't been time to timprove it, if it's improved it's an old version with modifications.

I'd be soooo confuuuuuused by it all, and meanwhile someone else would walk past me, buy either the new or the improved one, (I wonder if it would make a difference which one) and mace me and the bus driver and the woman at the bakery kiosk where I'd have been standing trying to make up my mind....
